Powderpuff: Ladies Football 20-12

Friday September 21, 2012 was the rebirth of the Powderpuff football game at my high school. I, of course, was coerced into playing. Being the juniors, no one expected us to win, or even score because the seniors were "stacked and jacked". 2 seconds into the game the seniors scored twice back to back but didn't get any extra points. So the score was a lovely 12-0 seniors. I didn't dig it. I went out as running back, demanded the ball, ran a 65 yard touchdown. AND we got the 2 extra points. Suddenly the massive lead was on 4 measly points for the seniors. I ran some more yardage but didn't get another TD in the first half, neither did anyone else on the junior team. At half time the score stood 12-8 seniors because the defense had picked up and shut out the glorified seniors. 5 minutes into the second half, our QB ran and scored, all of sudden us lowly, weak juniors were winning. We had the lead would never relinquish it. With less than 2 minutes left we had the ball and a final chance to increase our 2 point lead to and 8 or 10 point lead. 3rd down and 10 I ran in our final touchdown leaving the seniors with about 30 seconds to try and tie our 20 points. Everyone thinks the ref (a teacher who hated half our team) either can't tell time or wanted the seniors to win because their 30 seconds was more like 3 minutes. But in the end the seniors couldn't answer our 3 touchdowns (2 of which were all me). I had 12 points, matching the entire senior team and leading the juniors to the unexpected victory. 20-12 Juniors. (Funny that the score was 20-12 and it's Powderpuff 2012)
